These Mini Pigs in a Blanket are a fun, bite-sized appetizer made with smoky cocktail sausages wrapped in golden, flaky crescent roll dough. Perfect for parties, game day, or snacking!
Mini Pigs in a Blanket are the ultimate crowd-pleasing snack that’s as fun to make as they are to eat. With just two simple ingredients, crescent roll dough and lil’ smokies. You can whip up these little appetizer bites that are always the first to disappear at parties.

These are one of the simplest appetizers you can make, and you really can mix them up with different seasonings over the top, you could add cheese, and then you can dip in whatever you like! Homemade Ketchup is my personal favorite. But Homemade Ranch Dressing and even Canes Sauce are both great options.
I like to use crescent roll dough for these, if you can find the sheets they work best. But you can pinch the seams of the rolls together to make those work just fine. But you could also use pizza dough or Homemade Crescent Roll dough if you wanted.

What You’ll Need
Be sure to scroll to the bottom of the post for the FULL PRINTABLE recipe card.
- Crescent Roll Dough
- Lil’ Smokies
- Butter
- Seasoning – Everything Seasoning or Ranch Seasoning are my favorite.

How To Make Mini Pigs In A Blanket
- Prep. Unroll tube of crescent roll and pinch together the seams if you are using the rolls and not the sheets.
- Cut Strips. Lay the sheet of dough lengthwise in front of you. Using a sharp knife or pizza cutter cut into 7 long thin strips. Cut in half the other direction, and then cut each side in half again. So you will have a total of 28 strips.
- Roll. Roll each strip of dough around a lil’l smokie. Place seam side down on a lined baking sheet.
- Topping. Brush the top of each with the melted butter, and then sprinkle either ranch dressing mix or everything bagel seasoning over the top.
- Bake. Place them in the oven for about 15 minutes, or until they are golden brown and puffed up slightly.
- Serve. Remove and serve warm with ketchup or your favorite dipping sauce.

Recipe Tips & Suggestions
- Air Fryer. Want to make these in the air fryer instead of the oven, go for it! They will take about 8 minutes at 400º F. Just keep an eye on them until they are golden brown.
- Add Cheese. Cheese makes just about everything better and these are no different. You can place a slice of cheese (cheddar is my favorite for these) with the lil” smokey before you roll it up.
- Seasoning. You can see I made about half of mine with Everything Seasoning and half with Ranch Dressing Mix. Both are delicious, but you can absolutely skip them if you want, or try something else. Just don’t go crazy, a little can go a long way for these little bites.
- Double Recipe. I used a single roll of crescent rolls and the smaller, 12 oz package of sausages for this recipe. But you can use the larger package with 2 rolls of dough to make more if you are feeding a crowd.
- Make Ahead. These are easy to make ahead, once they are all wrapped up, skip adding the topping and tightly cover with plastic wrap so they don’t dry out. Store in the fridge and then add the topping and bake right before you are ready to serve.

Storage
If you have leftovers you can store in an airtight container for up to 3 days. I like to reheat in a toaster oven or the air fryer so they don’t get too soggy and are still crispy.
