These Crockpot Chicken Wings are tender, flavorful, and fall-off-the-bone delicious! Slow-cooked to perfection and finished with your favorite sauce, they’re the ultimate easy appetizer or game day snack.

Crockpot Chicken Wings are the perfect solution when you want delicious, fall-off-the-bone wings without the hassle of deep frying. The slow cooker does all the work, giving the wings great flavor and keeping them tender. Finish them off under the broiler (optional) and your favorite sauce for a crowd-pleasing appetizer or game day snack that’s virtually hands-off.

One of the best things about these chicken wings is how easy and hands-off they are. You can toss them in a sweet Coca-Cola BBQ Sauce or Buffalo Sauce or even just your favorite Barbecue Sauce for something different.

The recipe calls for finishing them under the broiler, but that is optional if you don’t have one or are short on time. But it gives them that crispy texture that you know and love from traditional wings.

  • Chicken Wings – Fresh or Frozen work great
  • Buffalo Sauce

How To Make Crockpot Chicken Wings

This is really more of a method than something exact that you need to follow.

  • Toss. Add the wings to your crockpot and toss with half of the sauce.
  • Cook. Cover and cook on high. If you are using fresh wings 2-3 hours and frozen wings for 3-4 hours.
  • Finish. Once the wings are cooked, remove them from the crockpot and place in a wire rack over a baking sheet. Brush with sauce and place under the broiler until they are nice and crispy.
  • Serve. Remove from the oven and toss with more sauce if desired and serve immediately.

Recipe Tips & Tricks

  • Doneness. You will know when the chicken is done by testing the internal temperature. You can use a thermometer to get the chicken to 165º F. At this point you can remove and broil.
  • Fresh vs Frozen. Both work well for this recipe, it really is more personal preference. Fresh or thawed wings you can season the actual wings with salt & pepper or lemon pepper or whatever you like. That is harder to do with frozen. Frozen will also give off a lot more liquid, which makes broiling even a little more important. If you are adding back to the crockpot to keep them warm, make sure to discard any liquid from cooking.
  • Broiling. The wings will appear white when they are done cooking and the skin will be soft. This is where broiling comes in to give the wings the texture they are known for. You can bake or broil until your desired crispiness.
  • Sauces. Mix up the sauce you use to whatever your favorite is. You can do a sweet sauce, a barbecue sauce or go classic with wing sauce. But the method doesn’t change!

How To Serve Crockpot Chicken Wings

Whether you are hosting a game day event, a holiday party or just want to mix up dinner these chicken wings are delicious. If you haven’t ever tried Air Fryer Chicken Wings, that is another method if you are in a hurry.

Once the wings are done to your desired crispiness you can add them back to the crockpot on warm if you want to have them for a party or an event. Serve with carrot and celery sticks with a side of Ranch Dressing or sometimes I mix it up with Creamy Garlic Dressing as well.

Crockpot Chicken Wings

These Crockpot Chicken Wings are tender, flavorful, and fall-off-the-bone delicious! Slow-cooked to perfection and finished with your favorite sauce, they’re the ultimate easy appetizer or game day snack.

Ingredients 

Instructions 

  • Add the wings to the base of your slow cooker. Toss with 1/2 cup of the sauce.
    3 pounds chicken wings, 1 cup buffalo sauce
  • Cover and cook on high for 2-3 hours or low for 3-4 hours.
  • Preheat broiler.
  • Remove chicken pieces from the crockpot and place on a lined baking sheet or a wire rack over a baking sheet. Brush with remaining sauce.
  • Place under hot broiler for 5-10 minutes, keeping a close eye on them, to your desired crispiness. You can flip half way through.
  • Remove and serve with more sauce if desired.
