These Beef Tips are baked to perfection in the oven, with NO PEEKing or checking on them from you! It’s a super easy, crowd-pleasing meal that’s perfect for busy weeknights or cozy Sunday dinners. They are great served over mashed potatoes, rice, or egg noodles for a hearty dish that tastes like you spent hours in the kitchen (even though you didn’t!).

You can use already chopped stew meat from the grocery store, or you can pick up a chuck roast that you cube up yourself. It all depends on what is on sale for me, I will stash it in the freezer and be ready whenever we are craving hearty comfort food.

How To Make No Peek Beef Tips

  • Mix. Mix together both soups with the onion soup mix and stir together with the beef tips. You just want to coat the beef with the mixture.
  • Cover. Spread in an even layer in a 13×9 inch casserole dish. Cover tightly with foil.
  • Bake. Place in the oven and bake for about 3 hours. No Peeking!!
  • Serve. Remove the beef from the oven, remove the foil and stir to combine everything. Scoop the beef and gravy mixture over mashed potatoes, egg noodles or serve alongside bread to soak up that gravy.

Recipe Tips & Suggestions

  • Beef. How long this takes to cook will depend on the size of your beef cubes. For about 1 1/2 inch cubes, 3 hours of low and slow cooking is what works for me. If you have smaller cuts of stew meat, you can plan on closer to 2 1/2 hours.
  • Slow Cooker. You can absolutely make this in the slow cooker as well. Mix everything together and place in the crockpot on high for about 3 hours, or low for 5 and you will have super tender and delicious beef.
  • Brown Beef. This is not required for this recipe, but if you have the time want want to, it will add great texture and flavor to the dish. Brown in a large skillet over high heat to get a crust on the outside of the meat, and then proceed with the recipe.
  • Add Vegetables. Adding a sliced mushrooms or onions are a great addition to the beef tips.
  • Condensed Soup. You really can use any cream soup you like, it doesn’t have to be cream of mushroom. And if you want homemade you can make my Cream of Chicken Soup and use that.

Serving Suggestions

These beef tips are great on their own, but with that gravy you really want something that pair with it, so it doesn’t go to waste! Egg noodles, rice, or Mashed Potatoes are my favorite options.

But you could also serve along side Dinner Rolls. And Roasted Asparagus or Brussel Sprouts for a vegetable.

Storage

Store any leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 4 days. You can reheat slowly in the microwave until it is warmed through.
